Starting 2day, i must make sure my doors are locked when i go to college...and also feed my house personal guard..YOYO!!(it's just a dog) so that she can bark more laudly when strangers approach my house..hopefully she can bite them as well..haha.

Sunday, October 10, 2004

Hihi! I'm back here again. so...I'm goin to tell da story about my part-time job tis time. Well, I'd been doin part-time at Mines Beach & Spa Resort for three times. work as a part-time waiter at their banquet.

well, da first time is a chinese set wedding dinner. it was at last two weeks ago, together with Mun Keong(MK) and his gf. things goes quite well, but a bit kelam-kabut coz I'm still not use to the their SOP (standard operation procedure), There were 24 + 1 VIP tables in the banquet, 10 ppl per table. I was assigned to serve 3 tables together with another part-timer. All the waiters were given abriefing before the diner start.there were total 7 dishes to serve. Before the dinner start, we also need to do food presentation first before the food are serve. The first dish-plate is damn heavy! I learn alot of things from a senior at there, like how to grab the dinner fork & spoon with one hand and serve the guests, how to cut da fish, bla bla... so many. da whole night i just keep walking around the banquet, going in and out the kitchen and banquet. I did from 5-11pm tat day. part-timer there is paid RM5 for each hour.

The second event was last Friday, I go together with MK& his gf and my housemate Marcus. It was an annual dinner for the teachers of SMK Seri Kembangan. 15 tables and a VIP tables in total, also 10ppl per table. Again, we were assigned two person to three tables. This is more relax than the chinese wedding dinner...coz we dun need to serve liquor or wines..( there were majority of malays teachers) I found that it's easier to serve Malays than to serve Chinese (chinese got too much of requests!). Oh ya...I saw the most "pondan" guy at that nite!! and he's a teacher!! Arrgh~~ I'd never ever seen anyone as pondan as HIM! Unimaginable!!! His gestures was just like an active little girl in primary school!! oh shit! tat night, I work from 6pm-12am.

the third time, was on last Saturday nite, I work form 6pm-2am!! It's a chinese wedding dinner, 16 tables in total, 12 person in a table! and everyone of us were assigned to serve TWO tables!! Damn! it's too much for us to handle! At that night, the Mines have three functions to do at the same time, tat's why we gotta serve more tables because lack of staff. the customers were so unhappy tat night coz the services was slow (we're not able to handle it). The customers complaint alot about the dirty glasses and plates. the father of the bride was so unhappy tat he scold us (we're innocent). but he'd told us tat it's not our faults, it's poor management fault. He also told us he's going to write a complaint letter to the management says that we all get scolded because of poor management. He's very unhappy with it bcoz he'd paid so much for the dinner. This is da most tiring night to me!! oh ya...something interesting about the newly married couple... they just knew each other for just 11 months!! after that nite, we discuss whether wanna do part-time at there again or not nxt time coz they all feel it's not worthy for what they are paid for what they'd work (it's still ok for me la, coz there still got more things to learn at there). we also noticed that the management of the resort is very poor consider that it's a 5 Stars hotel. Things happened inside the kitchen is so dirty and disgusting! Customer will never know what they'd eaten. we decide to look for another place, probably KLIA.

haha...tat's all this time. I gtg now. See ya all again!

Saturday, October 02, 2004

Hoho, here I am. Last night just had a BBQ at my friend's house and then went to yam cha til late nite around 2am. Now I'm having a one week holidays. actually it's not holiday, it's the inti so called "assignment week"..whatever lah, I can relax for a week.

Last weekend I went to the Mines Resort for a part-time job. Become a waiter at a wedding dinner for 6 hours. Huh, now i knew a waiter job is no easy job. ya gotta keep walking and serving ppl non-stop. dun even ve a minute to rest. quite tiring but I felt it's exciting. learn lot of things. going to do it again on 9th october, there will be 2 wedding events to do. waiter's job is no easy job!!

oklah, got to go already. see ya all soon!

Tuesday, September 14, 2004

Hihi, I'm back to Nilai finally. My new semester just begin, so there nothing to work on yet for the moment. What have I been doing during my las 3 weeks holiday? Ahem...well, for the first two weeks, I've been staying at Ipoh, din go to anywhere. During those 2 weeks, my family shifted to our new house, which is not far from my previous house, but shifting house is no easy job. I'm totally knackered (guess I din do much exercise huh). And I went back to Kelantan for the last week, to meet my darling, and my ex-classmates there. Things din went well as planned, I didn't have a chance to go out together with my darling =( But, lucky that we got to meet each other for just a short time (it's better than nothing). And so, I'm back to Nilai after that, to continue my battle...

It's ve been more than half a year i din get into any ailment.

Well, I've been reading on the history of the World War 2, particularly on the extermination of the european jews during that period. I got da inspiration to know all about this thing after watching a film "The Pianist", a Roman Polanski movie. Actually this movie is based on a book written by Wladyslaw Szpilman, a Polish survivor of the German invasion of Warsaw, Poland on 23 September 1939. Worth to watch it. I'm also looking for another film, "Schindler's List", a Steven Spielberg's movie in 1993. Anyone out there can help me to find it?

Lately I've been visiting some major bookstore to look for some books about this story. Hoping tat i can find some of these books: "The Pianist" by Wladyslaw Szpilman, "Schindler's List" by Thomas Keneally, "The Destruction of the European Jews" by Raul Hilberg, and "Holocaust Journey" by Martin Gilbert. Anyone know where can I find these books?

Haha, just read about Treblinka from internet. There's one of many Nazi's death camps were set up in the middle of 1942. More than 800,000 Jews from Poland, Austria, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, Jugoslavia, Germany and the Soviet Union were killed at here. Around 2000 victims were put to death in the 13 gas chambers at a time, each took around 10-15 minutes! Gosh!! I wish I can visit to Poland to see those places maybe sometimes in future...

Ah...tat's all for now. I'll be back soon with more stories.
